About Me
"Video is an art form, but most importantly a way of telling stories"
I stumbled across the world of filmmaking in 2012 when I was searching on YouTube for videos on a game I liked at the time. I didn't expect to find a large community of creators who made short films and shows from this game, I was fascinated and wanted to try for myself. It was a hobby I loved, which I didn't realise at the time, was giving me the basic skills to make a career out of filmmaking. Opening my eyes to the bigger picture of creating stories for the big screen or Television. I was teaching myself how to edit videos, write scripts, basic camera work and directing while being in high school and unsure of what I wanted to do in the future.
Since then I have grown passionate about video and making a career out of my hobby, taking creative media in college and later university. I love how creative and moving video is as an art form, it creates emotion in the viewer but most importantly tells a story. Some of the best work can tell you everything about the story, without any need dialogue. To show the viewer, not tell the viewer.
I graduated Birmingham City University in July 2019 with a 2:1 degree in Media and Communications and now looking for entry level work in the creative industry. During my time after graduation I have been working part time, while continuing to learn more about the industry and my chosen profession. I am always trying to better myself and my knowledge, doing what I can to stay updated and further improve my skills.
